The principal of PIEA LLC, Jeffrey C. Pellet has more than 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry. A former claims adjuster and structural damage estimator, Jeffrey C. Pellet now works as a property damage appraiser and umpire. He is adept at appraising several types of property damage including damage to residential and commercial property, heavy equipment, aircraft, and water vessels. He also gives expert testimony as an appraiser before federal and state courts.
In his work, Jeffrey C. Pellet focuses on accurate property damage evaluations for independent and staff insurance companies, and also represents policyholders and consults with small carriers. Recognized for his appraisal expertise, Mr. Pellet has been published in Claims Magazine and has spoken at the Florida Claims Association conference, among others. He was previously listed as an umpire in both the Florida Windstorm Directory and IAUA, and has given instructional classes on appraisal for large commercial and residential losses.
Early in his career, Mr. Pellet was a claims adjuster for several insurance companies before shifting to estimation. He became the structural damage estimator and senior vice president for Dixon Consulting in Summerville, South Carolina. At the company, he oversaw a $5 million a year operation, covering all commercial and residential estimation for insurance damages.
